Laurence Dacade is known for having whimsical and unique prints in her designs. The French designer’s philosophy is “There is no need to suffer for beauty”, and it is apparent in her comfortable shoe styles that are both fashionable & functional.

Vetements, pronounced vet-MAHN is the cool-girl, underground brand that debuted with a boom in 2014 ~~(despite Lorde’s twitter feed officially calling the brand “uncool” back in May)~~. With a selection of hoodies, quirky t-shirts, and other miscellaneous items of clothing. Additionally, they make some badass boots. See below.

Marco De Vincenzo, ex-Fendi fashion designer, first caught the attention of Italian Vogue editor Franca Sozzani at a show for his namesake label in 2009. His collections have been delightfully unpredictable from the usual Italian designers, instead opting for classic silhouettes with unexpected materials and construction (W Magazine says it best: think Judy Jetson goes to finishing school).

Alessadro uses his eye for modern design to create unique and eye-catching pieces designed for fashionable women. The sandals below are a great example of how the designer stretches the boundaries of modern design to create truly remarkable pieces that are more like a work of art than simply a pair of shoes.

Aleksander Siradekian is a new shoe designer that’s managed to keep a low profile until now. The brand’s signature heel is recognizable by a unicorn-like flowing fringe off the back of the heel. Every year, the Russian designer’s beautiful, feminine heels are shown at Paris Fashion Week. I recently stumbled across these red and black houndstooth stilettos, and am absolutely smitten. Wear these to a holiday party with a LBD or with an A-line mini-skirt and tights.

Whenever I think the ’90’s trend has had to have played its role in fashion recently, and is on it’s way out, it seems to show up in yet another item, and, alas, we have another grunge-era comeback. Luckily for me, I freaking love the 90’s, so I’m always giddy and nostalgic about such occurrences. The latest comeback happens to be these shiny, patent bubblegum-pink platform leather sneakers from Hogan. They remind me of the phase I went through as a wee young thing where I only wore Volatile platform sneaks & my friends coveted my rad shoe collection.
