The Hottest New Bag Trends For The Fall & Winter Season

As the seasons change, so does fashion.  This fall and winter season, mini backpacks and bucket bags are the perfect transitional carry-all bag.  Every designer has some sort of backpack they are debuting this season, from Fendi to Versace to Chanel.  In all shapes, sizes, and colors, it is easy to find one (or ten) you’ll love.  Of course, clutches and shoulder bags are the timeless counterparts, if a classic bag is more your style.

Check out the top picks below.

SHOE PORN THURSDAY: Nicholas Kirkwood

Nicholas Kirkwood is one of my favorite designers, and Pac Man is one of my absolute favorite arcade games.  So, when I came across these ‘Eden Pacman‘ heels by Nicholas Kirkwood, naturally, it was love at first sight.

Check out these beauties below.  These would look amazing paired with straight-leg, high-waisted trousers (preferably in the colors red, yellow, or blue) and a chic black cropped sweater.

SHOE PORN THURSDAY: Marco De Vincenzo

Marco De Vincenzo, ex-Fendi fashion designer, first caught the attention of Italian Vogue editor Franca Sozzani at a show for his namesake label in 2009.  His collections have been delightfully unpredictable from the usual Italian designers, instead opting for classic silhouettes with unexpected materials and construction (W Magazine says it best: think Judy Jetson goes to finishing school).

Check out these truly eye-catching heels below that combine futuristic and ladylike elements in a beautiful way.  Complete the look with cropped, flared culottes and a structured, high-neck blouse.

SHOE PORN THURSDAY: Roberto Cavalli

Fringe can easily take on the bohemian feel of the wild west, or embody the lavish glamour of the 1920’s and 1930’s.  These sandals are a shining example of the latter.  Covered in an ornate gold color, these exude all of the beauty and charm of old hollywood that only film noir seems to capture so eloquently.

Pair these sandals with a simple LBD, red lipstick, and as much gold jewelry as your heart desires (which is always too much, right ladies?).

SHOE PORN THURSDAY: Nº21

Nº21 was founded in 2010 by Alessandro Dell’Acqua, who also serves as the creative director at the fashion house Rochas.  Alessadro uses his eye for modern design to create unique and eye-catching pieces designed for fashionable women.  The sandals below are a great example of how the designer stretches the boundaries of modern design to create truly remarkable pieces that are more like a work of art than simply a pair of shoes.

SHOE PORN THURSDAY: Charlotte Olympia

I’m a sucker for anything kitschy, especially when it comes to high heels.  These stilettos by Charlotte Olympia are no exception.  Featuring a pair of legs for the heel, these shoes are not for the faint of heart.  Pair ’em with a simple LBD and some gold jewelry for a night out.

The Long Awaited Bucket Hat Comeback

There’s really no easy way to say this, so I guess I’ll just get on with it… As many of you witnessed at NYFW, the bucket hat is back.  And BCBG really wants to make sure you are aware, as every model at the Spring/Summer 2016 show in New York adorned one of the 90’s inspired floppy, patchwork hats.

Anyway, I think it’s safe to say, the real question on everyone’s minds is: Where can I score one a pair of mohawk headphones from the Desigual show? Sigh.

Really though, the bucket hats can’t come as too much of a surprise, considering the 90’s are (and have been back) in full force over the last few years.  Since you might as well give into the throwback Sugar Ray-inspired fashion trend, here’s some picks to shop below.

Quick side note: BCBG had an amazing playlist.  Like “almost forgivable for bringing back the bucket hat trend” -kinda good.  I digress…

SHOE PORN THURSDAY: Dolce & Gabbana

I have to hand it to Dolce & Gabbana for their unbelievable detailed shoes, always on trend with the theme for their season’s collection.  Who could forget their wood & leather sandals or their African-inspired wedges?  And, of course, there’s no beating Italian shoes.

Check out these Sicilian folklore pumps.  Their elegant and classic design brings out the amazing piece of art covering the shoe.  Wear these shoes with a white or cream pantsuit for work, or with a feminine A-line dress for play.

Funny side note on Dolce & Gabbana: When my wonderful parents came to visit me in New York, we walked down Madison Avenue.  As we were walking past the Dolce & Gabbana store, my dad said, “I know Dolce means ‘candy’ or ‘sweet’ in Spanish, so what does ‘Gabbana’ mean?”  So adorable.
