Capes were all over the Fall/Winter 2015 runways, and the trend easily transitioned to the Spring and Summer 2016 runway, with the introduction of cape dresses, tops, ponchos, and sleeveless vests.
There were robe-inspired capes as sleeves at Zuhair Murad; flowing, long capes as the trains of gowns at Guo Pei; sheer, floor-length capes worn separately over dresses and jumpsuits at Chanel; and capes as sleeves to the gowns at Ralph & Russo. Capes infuse the class & glamour of the 1920’s into a modern look that feels new and reinvented.

Kat Maconie is a British fashion designer who started her eponymous in 2009. She is known for her bold colors, strong prints, architectural shapes, metallic details, all infused with her signature tongue-in-cheek attitude.
With so many fun and lively designs to choose from, it’s difficult to choose a favorite, but these colorful India heels caught my eye (well, naturally…). With embroidery detailing and a bright suede chunky heel, these sandals are perfect for a sunny Spring or Summer day. Wear ’em with a white, blue, yellow, or green sundress for a perfect mix of playful and chic.
As anyone who is deviates from the “average” range in apparel knows, it’s difficult to find things that will fit perfectly. Being 5″2, I’ve struggled with finding things that actually fit right without having to enlist the help of a tailor for each item purchased. Jeans, skirts, and sleeves are too long or too short…a maxi skirt will never fit you if you’re under 5″5…and seriously, what is up with “Petite” or “Short” jeans? At 5″2, they have always looked like capris on me, making me wonder how short are the people they were created for?
Here are 8 shopping tips for my fellow shorty’s. Or shawty’s. Or, as my auto-correct would like to believe, shanty’s (although I have no clue as to what shanty’s are).
Now that you know what to look for when shopping, here are my top picks of where to shop for petite clothing that fits perfectly:
Moderately-Priced Brands:
Express, J. Crew, Anthropologie, and Ann Taylor LOFT.
Contemporary/Bridge:
Theory, BCBG, J. Brand (I actually love their petite-sized denim!).

There’s really no easy way to say this, so I guess I’ll just get on with it… As many of you witnessed at NYFW, the bucket hat is back. And BCBG really wants to make sure you are aware, as every model at the Spring/Summer 2016 show in New York adorned one of the 90’s inspired floppy, patchwork hats.
Anyway, I think it’s safe to say, the real question on everyone’s minds is: Where can I score one a pair of mohawk headphones from the Desigual show?Sigh.

Really though, the bucket hats can’t come as too much of a surprise, considering the 90’s are (and have been back) in full force over the last few years. Since you might as well give into the throwback Sugar Ray-inspired fashion trend, here’s some picks to shop below.
