Trending Now: 15 Classic Trench Coats That Will Never Go Out Of Style

A classic trench is an essential of every wardrobe.  There’s really no quintessential equivalent to the camel trench coat.  It simply exudes class, sophistication, and elegance, whether worn with a dress, a suit, or simply a pair of jeans.

Fall Classic Camel Coats
At this point, you’re probably thinking, Why, yes, I do need a camel trench coat, and I’m really not certain how I’ve lived my life without one….until now.
(Congratulations on your newfound realization!)
Now that you’ve taken a few seconds to let it soak in, your mind is probably overloaded with questions.  What details do I want on my trench?  Should I choose a belted, a button-up, or both?!  Oversized or fitted?  Do I splurge on a luxurious high-quality version so that it can last through many more winters to come?
While all of these questions are perfectly valid and understandable, know that you can simply sit back (let Trends & Tribulations do the heavy lifting here, darling) and relax while you feast your eyes on these shoppable beauties below.  All you gotta do is scroll.
(You’re welcome.  I love you, too.  Don’t get weird.)

This Week’s Most Coveted

Pantone has officially dubbed the sultry Marsala as the color of the year.  The red wine, burgundy-esque color evokes images of its earthy roots, while exuding a refined class and sophistication.  It blends well with muted tones, as well as bold and light neutrals, as it is a universally flattering color for fashion, beauty, and interiors.  The color is also appealing to men and women alike.  The color is both dramatic and grounding at the same time.  Check out the inspiration board for Pantone’s favorite color of 2015.

SHOE PORN THURSDAY: DSquared2

004_d1bb77ca-6c37-41ed-aa8a-b12c9ba138c0

DSquared2 is one of those super awesome labels that just exude a certain cool attitude, with a unique IDGAF kind of feel.  And these skeleton heel ankle boots are totally in on it (and kind of perfect for the Halloween season…).  The outsides of the boots have a shoelace-inspired lace-up closure that reminds me of equal parts Frankenstein and football, which isn’t an easy feat to pull off.

Wear them with anything and everything during any months ending in -ber.

There’s really no easy way to say this, so I guess I’ll just get on with it… As many of you witnessed at NYFW, the bucket hat is back.  And BCBG really wants to make sure you are aware, as every model at the Spring/Summer 2016 show in New York adorned one of the 90’s inspired floppy, patchwork hats.

Anyway, I think it’s safe to say, the real question on everyone’s minds is: Where can I score one a pair of mohawk headphones from the Desigual show? Sigh.

Really though, the bucket hats can’t come as too much of a surprise, considering the 90’s are (and have been back) in full force over the last few years.  Since you might as well give into the throwback Sugar Ray-inspired fashion trend, here’s some picks to shop below.

SHOE PORN THURSDAY: Dolce & Gabbana

A while back, Trends & Tribulations did this post on high-end shoe designers who created their own sketches of the Cinderella shoes for the movie that came out in March.  As mentioned, those designers designed and created the actual shoes, which were then displayed at an exhibit at the Berlin Film Festival, and at Saks Fifth Avenue’s flagship store in New York City.  Five of those designers chose to sell the shoes via special order at Saks, but only Dolce & Gabbana‘s are currently being sold to the public via Luisaviaroma.

Adorned in Swarovski crystals, and created with Plexiglas, these transparent 105mm heels are gorgeous enough to make anyone feel like a modern-day Cinderella.  Finally, a shoe solution for all of your #formaldressproblems.

Designer Spotlight: Coco & Breezy

Coco & Breezy (aka Corianna and Brianna Dotson) are two twin sisters from Minneapolis, Minnesota, who designed some unique sunglasses for themselves, mainly because they were super shy.

Coco & Breezy

Coco & Breezy

They went out to New York City on vacation for a few weeks, and people started stopping them on the street to buy their sunglasses right then off of the girls.  Long story short, the girls decided to make a business out of making their quirky sunglasses, and moved out to NY with a dream and a lot of determination.  Soon enough, their sunglasses were selling out faster than they could make ’em, and worn by the likes of Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj, Kelly Osbourne, Kim Kardashian, and Pharrell Williams, among many other celebs.

What I find truly amazing about Coco & Breezy’s story is that it truly shows with ambition combined with hard work, anything is possible.  When asked for their favorite quote in an interview with Jason Lee, they responded:

“I was in Bed, Bath and Beyond buying a snack and this older lady told me, “First, it’s about taking care of your health ,and second, its about being happy and true to yourself.  Then, its the money.  If you don’t have the first two things primary, then the money doesn’t matter.  Money is not what makes happiness.”
Undoubtedly, these twin sisters are trendsetters

Their sunglasses and miscellaneous other items (jackets and children’s, among others) can be found at their website, as well as everywhere from Karmaloop to Napolean Perdis.   Each collection under the Coco and Breezy eyewear range has its own story.  “20/20” collection – living in the year twenty twenty and having 20/20 vision, “Rainy Days” based on the concept of an umbrella, the literally translated collection “Wearable Art”, and “Omorose” meaning ‘beautiful’ in Egyptian.

To C&B, “Your eyewear is always your outfit and your clothing outfit is always your accessory.”  Be sure to keep an eye out for these inspiring fashionistas.

I was in bed, bath and beyond buying a snack and this older lady told me “1st its about taking care of your health, 2nd its about being happy and true to yourself and thennnnn its the money. What’s Trending: Nylon’s Holiday Pop-Up Shop in NYC

This past weekend, I had the opportunity to visit some awesome pop-up shops in Manhattan, most notably Refinery 29’s “Tinseltown Bazaar” in SoHo, the Chelsea Market’s Holiday Pop-Up, and, of course, Nylon’s Pop-Up in the Meatpacking District.  Refinery 29 had an adorable DIY booth and lots of lovely christmas gifts and samples (and I even ended up walking away with a pretty sweet temporary tattoo!), while the Chelsea Market had everything from Fred Flare’s quirky trinkets to fancy accessories for your pet to mini-Christmas trees and plants.  Today is the last day of the pop-up, but if you’re in the NYC area, I’d definitely recommend checking it out!  In case you can’t make it, I snapped a few photos from Nylon’s Pop-Up shop and you can check ’em out for yourself below.
