As technology becomes more prevalent in our lives, the emerging coinciding fashion trend seems to have an emphasis on futuristic. Some of it is quirky (say, DVF for Google Glass), some of it innovative (3D-printed jewelry? Yes, please), and some of it… questionable.
Meet the Nova Shoe Chrome Vinyl Wedges by Zaha Hadid for United Nude from Luisaviaroma. This exclusive edition heel is an interesting take on the phantom heel wedge, with a 160mm Carbon fiber wedge heel and a 60mm Carbon fiber internal platform. Although these are certainly heels that will get you noticed, I’m not so sure how much sex appeal they have. But then again, if you feel like a sexy show stopper in these, that’s really all that matters, anyway.

I’d like to think of Pierre Hardy as some type of fashion magician, and with a background of designing jewelry, handbags and shoes for Hermes for over a decade, former shoe designer for Dior and most recently known to many as the designer of the lego shoe, this namesake seems pretty fitting. He contends his inspiration to a broad spectrum of things, including his own historical knowledge as well as the ultra contemporary. This unique inspiration is clearly evident in these shoes, which I think of as a mix between 1980’s style, modernism and hints of futuristic inspiration. I have recently fallen in love with Blink’s sneaker wedges. They come in various different colors and styles, and they look quite comfortable. I love how they tie in with the sporty-fashion infusion.
