French designer Pierre Hardy is known for making statement shoes with a unique and modern touch. His shoes are anything but boring, as evident with his giant eye shoes and futuristic, sculptural shoes. This pair of boat shoes are emblazoned with a detachable colorful shoelace motif, which naturally raises the cute factor by 110%. Wear ’em with cropped, white skinny jeans or with a loose-fitting midi skirt for a chic and unique look. And simply detach the motif for a more professional style.

What do you think of these funky shoes? How would you choose to style them?
Pierre Hardy is one of those shoe designers who has mastered the disciplined balance of an elegant, architectural aesthetic with a subtle quirkiness.
Take, for example, these Ombre striped pumps, which are made of pony skin and blend the array of unexpected colors beautifully. These heels would look perfectly feminine paired with a shift dress, or edgy when paired with a leather mini.

What do you think of these pumps? What would you pair them with?
I’d like to think of Pierre Hardy as some type of fashion magician, and with a background of designing jewelry, handbags and shoes for Hermes for over a decade, former shoe designer for Dior and most recently known to many as the designer of the lego shoe, this namesake seems pretty fitting. He contends his inspiration to a broad spectrum of things, including his own historical knowledge as well as the ultra contemporary. This unique inspiration is clearly evident in these shoes, which I think of as a mix between 1980’s style, modernism and hints of futuristic inspiration.
