This Week’s Most Coveted

Pantone has officially dubbed the sultry Marsala as the color of the year.  The red wine, burgundy-esque color evokes images of its earthy roots, while exuding a refined class and sophistication.  It blends well with muted tones, as well as bold and light neutrals, as it is a universally flattering color for fashion, beauty, and interiors.  The color is also appealing to men and women alike.  The color is both dramatic and grounding at the same time.  Check out the inspiration board for Pantone’s favorite color of 2015.

SHOE PORN THURSDAY: Alexander Wang

Alexander Wang’s sporty aesthetic is evident in everything he designs, including his high heels.  For his Spring/Summer 2015 collection, his shoes combined the perfect balance of mesh detailing, velcro, and a white leather for a futuristic look.  The cutout wedge details make for a unique visual illusion when worn.  These wedges would look perfect mixed with this polo dress and duffle bag, both from Wang’s Spring & Summer ’15 collection.

SHOE PORN THURSDAY: MM6 by Maison Margiela

Flatforms are 2015’s answer to 2014’s mule sandal.  Comfortable, relaxed, and a little out there, the flatform can come in various heights, shapes, and materials.  These ones by Maison Martin Margiela’s label MM6 stuck out to me, with their quirky stuffed ankle straps and pink vinyl tops.  Ultimately, if the shoe type creepers and Geta sandals had a lovechild, this is what it would look like.  Channel your inner Baby Spice, and style them with pigtails, a ring pop necklace, and (probably) a fake ID.

SHOE PORN THURSDAY: Gianmarco Lorenzi

Gianmarco Lorenzi is all about glamour, luxury, high fashion, and lavish extravagance, among other glittery things fashionistas dreams are made of.

So, how could I resist showing off this shiny and beautiful leather sandal from the Summer 2015 collection?  I simply cannot think of anything this sandal wouldn’t go with, but am dreaming of rocking ’em paired with a pastel romper or dressed up with culottes and a high neckline.

SHOE PORN THURSDAY: Kenzo

Kenzo’s creative directors, Humberto Leon and Carol Lim, have been business partners since 2002 when they founded Opening Ceremony in New York.  Together, they have captured the carefree and playful spirit of Kenzo, with unexpected prints, patterns, and a totally unique way of embracing fashion.

These white, black, and blue sandals are different than Kenzo’s signature green & blue color scheme, yet embody their unique, eclectic style.  Personally, I think they look like super-hot Stormtrooper-inspired heels.

Chanel Fall 2014 Runway

Sneakers have quickly become a huge fashion trend.  Whether worn with a skirt, or played down with a pair of leggings, sneakers are all over the street and the runway.  It’s not surprising, seeing as how the line between activewear and everyday clothing is becoming further and further blurred.

SHOE PORN THURSDAY: Gianmarco Lorenzi

Donald Trump boasts he makes the best hotels in the world, and I have to agree.  I boast that I make the best ceviche in the world, and, quite frankly, I do.  Gianmarco Lorenzi boasts he makes the most perfect heel in the world, and I’m inclined to agree, as I don’t see why he’d say it if it wasn’t true…

Over the last 30 years, Gianmarco Lorenzi has been creating feminine designs that blend the lines between shoes and art.  These sandals, using geometric shapes, are unbelievably sexy and uber-fashionable.
