SHOE PORN THURSDAY: Charlotte Olympia

If you’ve been following Trends & Tribulations for a while, you are probably aware of my unhealthy obsession with a certain number of designers of the namesakes Charlotte Olympia, Sophia Webster, Nicholas Kirkwood, Giuseppe Zanotti, and Christian Louboutin.  Therefore, I try extremely hard to showcase other designers in our beloved SPT’s, basically so its not just alternating between the aforementioned 5.  Once in awhile, however, I just can’t help but show off a new shoe love.

Without further ado, I present Miss Charlotte Olympia’s ‘Mascot’ Pumps.  In a vibrant cherry red color, these are basically the epitome of classic cool, and look like they belong on the feet of our favorite It girls, like Alexa Chung or Olivia Palermo.  

Pair these lovely kicks with a pair of cropped cigarette jeans or with a crisp, structured mini skirt for an all-out preppy look.

SHOE PORN THURSDAY: Alexandre Birman

Alexandre Birman is known for using exotic animal skins, such as water-snake, crocodile, lizard, tilapia, and even ostrich, in rich colors to create handcrafted, modern and uniquely sexy heels.  The Brazilian designer debuted strong in the U.S. market in 2008 via Bergdorf’s, Saks, and Neiman Marcus.

These red caged peep-toe booties are crafted from suede with python trim to add an alluring touch.  I love the contrast between the elegant and exotic notes.

My favorite part of these pumps is the red snakeskin covered sole.
