Best Of NYFW as of yet: Prabal Gurung Spring/Summer 2014

I’ll admit- I may be a bit biased due to my obsession with retro fashion, but Prabal Gurung’s SS 2014 collection is absolutely breathtaking. Fifties-inspired, midi-length skirts and dresses were one of the main hits, but with an edge- see the backpiece below (although questionable, I do not believe that is not an orthopedic device….).

However, don’t let the racerback piece freak you out. See my favorite picks from the collection below.

“I like the idea of femininity with bite,” Prabal was quoted as saying after the show. It certainly shows.

These need to find their way into my wardrobe, preferably ASAP.

I came across these amazing polaroids from backstage at Prabal Gurung’s Fall/Winter 2013 show at NYFW. See the badass models, clothes and even Anna Wintour chatting with Prabal in a black & white nostalgic manner via these photographs below.

Prabal Gurung’s collection at New York Fashion Week consisted of a military theme, complete with army green and navy colors. The clothes exuded femininity with an array of slits, peplums, fur details and harnesses.
