SHOE PORN THURSDAY: Charlotte Olympia

If you’ve been following Trends & Tribulations for a while, you are probably aware of my ~~unhealthy~~ obsession with a certain number of designers of the namesakes Charlotte Olympia, Sophia Webster, Nicholas Kirkwood, Giuseppe Zanotti, and Christian Louboutin. Therefore, I try extremely hard to showcase other designers in our beloved SPT’s, basically so its not just alternating between the aforementioned 5. Once in awhile, however, I just can’t help but show off a new shoe love.

Without further ado, I present Miss Charlotte Olympia’s ‘Mascot’ Pumps. In a vibrant cherry red color, these are basically the epitome of classic cool, and look like they belong on the feet of our favorite It girls, like Alexa Chung or Olivia Palermo.

Pair these lovely kicks with a pair of cropped cigarette jeans or with a crisp, structured mini skirt for an all-out preppy look.

Christian Louboutin‘s aesthetic is primarily sexy, classy, and luxurious. Many of his designs are indeed quirky, yet maintain the timeless quality, and, of course, bright red soles.

That being said, the man has a sense of humor, as is apparent in these Jolly Patent Squiggle-Heels. It’s impossible to read that and not smile. Interestingly enough, these heels are absolutely fitting to such a name.

Spikes have been a huge trend for shoes that have been around for so long, it’s becoming a mainstay. With the popularity of Valentino Rockstud’s and Louboutin’s various spiked heels, the spikes are evolving into creative and unique pieces of art. My new obsession is the Spike Me 120mm Eclipse Patent PVC pumps from Louboutin’s Fall/Winter 2014 collection, with colorful spikes that appear to be floating on your feet, a pinky heel, and pointed toe for the perfect balance of sexy and fabulous.

Studs, spikes, and leather are becoming a mainstay in fashion, and also complements any outfit with their edgy appeal. One of my favorite ways to incorporate them into my wardrobe is in my shoes. Check out these amazing Louboutin boots, aptly titled “Guerilla 120” studded leather boots.

So, I have to confess. I’ve been feeling terribly guilty, being on the fourth week of Shoe Porn Thursday, and yet, still not having any Louboutin’s featured. So, alas! I present you the Christian Louboutin Decorapump from the Fall/Winter 2012 collection, which will pitch you up 160mm and set you back a measly $3,895. The Swarovski crystals are placed in a geometric pattern, which is perfectly fitting since this is a trend we will be seeing everywhere this upcoming season.
