SHOE PORN THURSDAY: Francesco Russo

Animal prints have never really been my thing.  I blame all of the zebra prints I saw growing up that made adults look larger than life (such an unforgiving print, sigh…).  However, in the last few years, snakeskin and crocodile prints have been quickly crept into my life and I can’t pretend I’m not absolutely obsessed.  On that note, leopard print has also quickly become a guilty pleasure of mine.  I love, love, love leopard print & Louboutin red mixed together, along with deep, ruby reds and burgundies.  Of course, you can’t go wrong with leopard print and black, and, as our dear fashion icon Kate Moss has shown us over the years, it always looks badass.

Enter, these Francesco Russo fur detail leopard print sandals, shown above.  With an adorable fur mohawk on the heel, these are a perfect sandal to transition into the fall with.  Match ’em with a pair of baggy athletic harem pants, and maybe this adorable Salvatore Ferragamo Sofia satchel (if you really want to go above and beyond).

SHOE PORN THURSDAY: Rag & Bone

Rag & Bone’s classic Newbury boot is a staple in every stylish It girl’s wardrobe, from Sienna Miller to Kate Moss to Rosie Huntington-Whitely.  I can attest that I wear my black Newbury boots with everything; they are a perfect complement to a bohemian summer dress, while looking effortlessly chic under cuffed jeans and a blazer.  Not to mention, the 3 1/2 inch chunky heel is just enough height to be casual enough for daytime and unbelievably comfortable, all while looking totally put together.

Usually seen in the black color or muted grey, the Newbury just got updated to leopard, and it’s pretty amazing.

How to Wear It: Leopard Print

Leopard print is a difficult trend to master.  Too much, and you end up looking tacky.  With this animal print, the more subtle, the better.  Try mixing in details, or peeking out from underneath a shirt.  When contrasted against black, red, or a deep plum color, it will stick out and look absolutely stunning.

NYC Street Style

This past week, I had the pleasure of walking around Manhattan while photographing some interesting and very fashionable ladies.  Some of the recent street style trends I observed consist of sneakers (especially Converse), denim button-ups, leopard print, and leather.  Here’s a peek at some of my favorite shots, after the cut.
