SHOE PORN THURSDAY: Givenchy

Oh, leather & lace, you never get old, do you?  Check out these perforated white leather mules by Givenchy.  With a 4 inch heel, these beauties would look amazing styled with a pair of oversized culottes or a flowing, below-the-knee A-line skirt.  Personally, I love the white, as it blends perfectly with the leather and lace combo, but the boot equivalent is available in black here, if that’s more your style.

SHOE PORN THURSDAY: Burberry

Burberry Prorsum‘s Fall/Winter 2014-15‘s collection of artwork-inspired prints are absolutely gorgeous and a refreshing turn from their signature check print.  The designs are drawn freehand on leather, cashmere, and, of course, their signature trench coats.

While the coats and bags are certainly statement pieces, I was most drawn to their collection of watercolor-inspired heels.  These are definitely a classic statement piece.  With many different shades and colors incorporated into the designs, they can easily dress up a basic colored dress, or be paired with a trenchcoat for a retro-inspired look.  Check out the beauties below!

SHOE PORN THURSDAY

Studs, spikes, and leather are becoming a mainstay in fashion, and also complements any outfit with their edgy appeal.  One of my favorite ways to incorporate them into my wardrobe is in my shoes.  Check out these amazing Louboutin boots, aptly titled “Guerilla 120” studded leather boots.

SHOE PORN THURSDAY

In recent times, every time I see flats, the line from 30 Rock comes to mind where Jack is describing Avery, and says, “And she always wears high heels, because, according to her, flat shoes are for quitters.”  Nonetheless, these quirky flats from Nicholas Kirkwood are obviously so darn cute they are exempt from such a statement.  Enjoy, and have a great Thanksgiving!

Check out these beautiful studded Valentino boots.  Constructed from leather, suede and pyramid studs, they truly embody the glamorous rock’n’roll attitude Valentino exudes.  The silhouette is both sexy and sophisticated, and they are a perfect complement to a casual outfit, as well as dressy enough to pair with a LBD.

On another note, happy New York Fashion Week!  I will be blogging and photographing with Zaden Row all week- be sure to check for great street style and latest trends.

NYC Street Style

As the autumn season begins, it is so interesting to see the street styles change.  The past week or so, I went around the Meatpacking District and East Village, and photographed some of NYC’s most fashionable females.  Some of the most popular trends I noticed were denim cut-offs, studs and lots of leather.

NYC Street Style

This past week, I had the pleasure of walking around Manhattan while photographing some interesting and very fashionable ladies.  Some of the recent street style trends I observed consist of sneakers (especially Converse), denim button-ups, leopard print, and leather.  Here’s a peek at some of my favorite shots, after the cut.

Style Muse: Fifty Shades of Grey

Unlikely Fashion Inspiration: Fifty Shades of Grey
I bought Fifty Shades of Grey this last Monday, and am almost finished with the book already…  It truly is addictive and I finally understand what all the hype is about.  I have been envisioning what Ana and Christian look like, and have been inspired by her grungy, tomboy style.  It sounds very carefree and simple, as she often refers to her black jeans, converse and (what I imagine to be a) motorcycle jacket. I chose the graphic tee with a lip being bit, as anyone who has read Fifty Shades of Grey knows it is referenced quite often throughout it.  Of course, I had to add the beautiful lingerie, and the black Chanel perfume simply seemed fitting, with its opaque, sleek black bottle.
Have you read the book?  I’d love to hear your thoughts.
