Generally speaking, I think of Shoe Porn as the shoes that are so unbelievably cute/sexy/drool-worthy that I simply must. have. in. my. closet. NOW. However, sometimes you come across a shoe that is so absurdly strange that you wonder what the designer was thinking when they created it. This is definitely the case with these boots from Maison Martin Margiela. From the first picture, they are actually pretty cute and interesting, covered in cement and graffiti, and they are made of 80% calf and 20% cement, an interesting combination.
However, it is the front of the shoe that is the part I am having trouble with (see below).
Why, yes, the toes are a bit hoof-like, don’t you think? It’s kind of like when you see a cute guy with a hat and sunglasses on, and then he takes it off, and, well… It ruins it. Would you wear the shoes?

Can’t see any time when I would need to wear cloven hooves although some designers might think they are noteworthy and add them to their collections. Maybe they are warm and cozy, maybe they have metal taps on the sole to warn people that they are on the march and ready to stampede…yuck.
