Milan Fashion Week is coming to an end today, but the amazing collections shown left lasting impressions.  For those of you who missed the shows, here is a recap of some of the most remarkable collections for Spring/Summer 2013 shown in Milan.

Moschino Spring/Summer ’13

The main ideas from the Moschino show was 1960’s inspired and stripes.  There were mosaic mirror shift dresses, fitted pantsuits, and super short skirts.  Fine detailing was key, with clean lines and dots.  The main colors were blacks and whites, grass green shades, florals; altogether a monochrome mix.

Roberto Cavalli Spring/Summer ’13

Roberto Cavalli was all about feminine lace and laser-cut leather.  The materials were sheer and soft, and the main material used was chartreuse.  The main colors consisted of white, blush pink, pale green, and peach.  Of course, Cavalli included the signature leopard prints incorporated into embroidered and filigree patterns.

Dolce & Gabbana Spring/Summer ’13

Dolce & Gabbana had a colorful, energetic vibe full of vibrant reds, orange, yellows and golds.  Their signature ornate embroidery was ever-present, along with bold and summery stripes.  The shapes were 50’s-inspired and ladylike, with full skirts and high-waisted shorts, accompanied by boxy jackets.

Gucci Spring/Summer ’13

Gucci started out the show with a bright pink trouser suit, followed with many deep, jewel tones, like azure, turquoise, and yellow.  The shapes included loose sleeves and 60’s-era dresses, as well as high and rolled necklines.  The fabrics were snakeskin, and sleek, yet fitted fabrics accompanied with flowy frills and feathers (say that 10 times fast!).  Altogether, Gucci seemed to have many bright ideas for Spring/Summer 2013.

Fendi Spring/Summer ’13

Fendi’s Spring/Summer 2013 line was a juxtaposition of luxe fabrics and bold, inventive shapes.  The lines started off clean cut and utilitarian, before transforming into an explosion of floral-inspired digital prints.  The colors consisted of eggshell blue, yellows, and earthy tones, like caramel, cream and nudes.

Bottega Veneta Spring/Summer ’13

Bottega Veneta designer was overheard backstage as saying there was no one adjective to describe a woman and what she wears, but sweet and tough were the closest he could come up with- very true to his collection.  Embellishments were a dominant force in the Bottega Veneta show, along with crisp and printed tea dresses.

DSquared2 Spring/Summer ’13

DSquared2 had lots of accessories, with the outfits being short and flirty.  Leather was seen everywhere from the mini-skirts to the harness/bra style tops to the policeman-style caps.  Gold and chains were layered on everything, with quilted leather bags and gowns to top it all off.

Marni Spring/Summer ’13

Checks and grid formations patterned the looks at the Marni Spring/Summer 2013 collection in Milan.  Inflated shapes, A-line skirts and belted trapeze coats were the main shapes seen.  The colors consisted of pale grey, dark green, maroon, pink and black.  There was a type of luxe simplicity that was the underlying driving force in the collection.
