Tweed has gone through a rejuvenation in recent times, and has become softer and more comfortable. It is making a fashionable comeback, and the 1950’s style suiting has been seen everywhere lately from jackets and pants to dresses, shorts, and even high heels (see the previous post about Nicholas Kirkwood for Erdem here).
I’ve been scouring the web for reasonably priced, high fashion tweed items, as it will be an autumn and winter fashion trend that will keep you warm and fashionable (a rare duo).
The fringe details on this Rebecca Taylor jacket makes it really stand out from the crowd, and the unique and classy take on a motorcycle jacket is simply stunning. Find it here.
Check out these baby blue tweed shorts from River Island. The high waist and black lining put a stylish spin on tweed. And for 30 euros (about $38), how can you resist?
These Marc Jacobs 5 pocket skinny pants are made with tweed in a variety of lively colors. Pair them with a soft denim button down for an eye-catching look.
With the cigarette shoe becoming a fashionable wardrobe staple in recent times, these tweed shoes by Jon Josef Gatsby couldn’t be more fitting (and being $49 doesn’t hurt either).
This Sister Jane dress from Asos is crafted from metallic tweed fabric for a more subtle way to infuse the fabric into your outfit. I love the leather collar with spike chain detailing, and the pleats make it ultra-feminine.
This Kenzo skirt is a bit of a splurge, but I couldn’t resist putting it in because, well, look at the damn thing. It’s 300 euros (about $377).
I personally love the tweed fashion trend that is emerging this upcoming fall and winter. Let me know what you think of it below!
I absolutely love tweed! It serves purpose from a visual place as well as a textural place. I can’t wait to see it more in store this season!
