Fashion Inspiration: Lena Dunham

lena dunham fashion inspirationLena Dunham is one of those people that I am bewildered with for all that she does- acting, playwrights, directing…  She’s a definite modern woman with aspirations, deep thoughts, and an adventurous, and eclectic style that she often takes risks with, and doesn’t offer apologies when doing so.  Therefore, she’s a no-brainer for today’s fashion inspiration, which models clothes based on her indie, sexual, and carefree styles that she chooses to rock.

What do you think of Miss Dunham and her style?  Have you guys ever watched (my personal favorite) Girls or Tiny Furniture?

Fashion Muse: Lykke Li

LYKKE LI

Lykke Li has an amazing voice, haunting music, and enough style to blow your socks off.  She has a minimalist style, inspired by black and white, like so many of her music videos.  Take a style cue from the lovely lady, and pair black hi-tops with harem pants and a chic distressed shirt and jacket.  Have a great rest of the weekend!

Style Inspiration: Olivia Palermo

Olivia Palermo - my Model Inspiration

Today’s hottest socialites and fashion favorites include the lovely Olivia Palermo.  With her long resume in fashion, from working for Diane Von Furstenburg and in the accessories department at Elle to designing a shoe for Stuart Weitzman to (sigh) founding her own fashion and style blog, which includes street style shots of her coveted looks, it’s no surprise her style is coveted by fashionistas everywhere.  Her signature style always includes black (a native New York, what do you expect?), often paired with a pair of sunnies and sky-high heels.  A perfect mix of edge and class.

First Lady Fashion Inspiration: Jackie O

Fashion Icon: Jackie O Kennedy
Although everyone is currently fascinated by Michelle Obama’s risky and classic fashion choices, it’s hard to forget Jackie O, the infamous First Lady who was known for having immaculate fashion senseChannel her look with a ’50′s inspired dress with an A-line cut, and embellished pumps.  Add a pair of gloves to finish off the ultimate classic beauty look.

Style Icon: Lana Del Rey

Lana

It’s no surprise that Lana Del Rey has quickly become a modern fashion icon, with her signature pout and classic style, and fashion brands everywhere have taken notice (see the Mulberry Del Rey bag, duh!). Channel her retro look with a A-line style dress and cropped wool jacket.  Complete the look with a pair of pumps and cat-eye eye frames (and don’t forget a swipe of red lipstick!).

Who else is hopeful Lana will create a fashion line in the future?

Unlikely Fashion Inspiration: Courtney Love

Girl with the Most Cake: for heidijoe

Courtney Love has a signature style that embodies 90′s grunge in the perfect and most fashionable way possible.  Yes, there may be many people who hate her, but you have to give the girl some credit- she can rock flannel like none other.  Here is an outfit inspired by the rock’n'roll princess herself.

Speaking of, have you guys checked out her clothing line Never The Bride?  It’s made of vintage she’s kept around for over 30 years- crazy, right?

Unlikely Fashion Inspiration: Anastasiya Shpagina

The real-life anime doll Anastasiya Shpagina is not exactly a fashion icon, yet her style runs rampant somewhere between “Flower Child meets School Girl meets Kawaii”, which is a pretty unique and admirable combination.  Channel your inner princess with Anastasiya Shpagina’s signature style.

Unlikely Fashion Inspiration: Vika Gazinskaya

Inspiration: Vika Gazinskaya
Vika Gazinskaya is a Russian-born designer who found fame from being a street style starlet, and one we will surely be hearing more about.  With her signature short, choppy blonde locks and sophisticated, yet modern style, she is a huge fashion inspiration for many.  To channel her signature look, combine unique prints and basics, adding a cinched belt to give you an hourglass shape, circa 1950′s.  Check out the photos from her upcoming line below.
